Annual Scholarships

The Nez Perce Trail Foundation continues to offer scholarships to Native Americans each year. Details and requirements can be found on the application for each year in the spring.

All applications are due each year on July 15.

Winners will be announced at the annual Tamkaliks Celebration at Wallowa, Oregon in July. The NPTF has annually contributed the funds with the hope that our cause will promote cultural understanding, appreciation, pride, education, scholarly advancement, and success.

Duane Heglie donates two or more scholarships each year to deserving Native American students

HEGLIE FAMILY and FRIENDS ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP

Duane Heglie, Board Member and Lifetime Member of the Nez Perce Trail Foundation,  awards two or more $500. scholarships each year to deserving Nez Perce candidates. The Heglie family, as well as many of their friends, donate money each year for the scholarship funds. The scholarships are awarded each year at the Tamkaliks Celebration in Wallowa, Oregon in July.
